Just a short note to say that at 330 am (it was a black night) Kahlil and I raised the sails. For the past 5 hrs we have been flying along in a northerly wind, quite a close reach, doing a steady 8-9 knots, heading straight for Suvarov Atoll. We recently had shimmi hauled out at a dock yard on Raiatea Island, we remachined a new rudder bearing, new bottom paint job, new gearbox seals and centered the rudders. Also just prior to leaving Bora-Bora we replaced 3 broken battons, the top three. I had some old battons in the one forepeak, we cut and sanded them to fit. So, as a result shimmi is now slicing through the south pacific with renewed vigour. Josh and Indie are struggling a bit right now to adjust to a new voyage. Its hard when you just learnt to walk and the floor is moving all the time! But the sea is quite flat and the wind is great. Sun is shining and we are eating up the miles. However the weather fax indicates a low approaching with contrary winds for tomorrow. Noo?
Whoever prayed for wind: Thanks!
